How much do ADHD evaluations and treatment cost?
Pricing Transparency
Your first appointment is $389.
This includes:
- A 60-minute full-length evaluation over an audio-visual system in real-time where there is two-way interactive communication with one of our expert ADHD treatment providers. If you have a prior diagnosis of ADHD, provide documentation of previous ADHD evaluation. (e.g. test reports, clinician records) and complete an authorization to permit us to obtain the records from your prior provider.
- You are not charged for this appointment until after your appointment is over. Just like visits to regular health care providers, payment is due at the end of the appointment.
- We do not charge before the appointment, but reserve the right to charge a $100 fee for “no show” appointments.
- Our providers combine your pre-assessment, medical history, standardized structured ADHD clinical interview and additional information gathered from your first appointment to evaluate you and, if appropriate, provide you with a comprehensive ADHD diagnosis and create a treatment plan customized for you. If you have information from your family, teachers or others familiar with your symptoms, please provide that as well.
- If your provider decides that treatment with medication management is one of the appropriate options, the provider will write your first month’s prescription at the conclusion of that appointment, and the prescription will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice, as it is all included in the same visit charge (see below section). If your provider decides that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), neurofeedback, psychotherapy or other therapies are appropriate options, any prescriptions needed for those services are also included in the same visit charge.
- Have PPO insurance? We’ll provide a Superbill you can submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement. See Insurance FAQ below.
- Have FSA or HSA accounts as part of your work benefits? You can submit the receipts to your flexible spending accounts (FSAs) or health savings accounts (HSAs) for reimbursement since these are eligible medical expenses. Some may have a card linked to their HSA account that can be used for payments.
Your first prescription is included.*
- If your provider decides that treatment with medication is one of the right treatment options, your first prescription is included in your first appointment, and will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice.
- Sometimes, but not often, finding the right dosage or evaluating other treatment options require a check-in or two with your provider, and of course these calls are also “free” since they are included in the cost of your visit. We mean it when we say we care.
- *Does not include the actual bottle of medication from your pharmacy (see below section).
**A prescription refill consult is $149. **
Need a refill? Simply text, call, or email us and we’ll schedule a prescription follow-up with your provider who will determine if the refill should be the same dosage or if there should be any other changes to your prescription. Please note that “refills” are not allowed for certain controlled substance medications so technically, the provider will schedule a follow-up medication management appointment and write a new prescription if appropriate. This price also applies to new prescriptions for medication management follow-up appointments.
No monthly commitments. No recurring fees. You will only be charged when the provider writes the "refill" or new monthly prescription
This fee covers the provider time needed to review your current prescription, as well as our overhead, as there are steps that are medically and legally necessary before a new prescription can be written. In addition, if the prescription needs to be changed, a provider will meet with you as many times as necessary via telehealth (or in person once we return to that post-pandemic) to ensure that this is the appropriate treatment for you. It can take some months before a patient is stable and it can be seen that the medication management prescribed is working for a patient.
Have PPO insurance? As a courtesy to our patients, we will submit a Superbill to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement. We will do this for every visit, including medication management follow-ups. See Insurance FAQ below.
Have FSA or HSA accounts as part of your work benefits? You can submit the receipts to your flexible spending accounts (FSAs) or health savings accounts (HSAs) for reimbursement since these are eligible medical expenses. Some may have a card linked to their HSA account that can be used for payments.
Medication costs.*
Our fees do not include the actual medications from the pharmacy, as we do not have any pharmacy affiliations.
Medications range in price, depending on your prescription drug benefits. With the Affordable Care Act and Covered California, we encourage all patients to become insured – especially if there are ongoing health issues. Click here for Covered California and apply if you do not have insurance.
Health insurance may be much more affordable than you imagine. One emergency medical event can cause serious financial harm and it is very important to take care of your health on an on-going basis.
We are not your primary care physician, and we urge all patients to have health insurance and primary care providers who see them for regular checkups. We really do care.
Without insurance, medication at the pharmacy costs between $20-$60 or more using a GoodRx.com discount code.
Free check-ins.
- Check-in appointments with your provider via text, email, telehealth, or two-way video chat are included as part of your prescription follow-up/refill appointment cost and will be “100% free” – meaning that there is no additional charge.
- As a patient, there are no other fees outside of those for your first appointment and prescription follow-up/refill appointments.
Do you accept insurance?
Our practice does not accept insurance, but your insurance can be applied to your medication costs at the pharmacy, if you have pharmacy benefits.
If you have PPO insurance, all of your treatment fees can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. We will supply you with a coded receipt — or "Superbill" — that you can upload or mail to your insurance.
Your insurance provider will then reimburse you directly the amount allowed within your insurance plan (insurance plan specifics vary). You can submit all costs including your first visit and all refill service fees.
Both FSA and HSA will cover treatment from our office.

- You have a history of addiction and/or drug abuse
- You have untreated high blood pressure

We highly encourage you to read through our entire FAQ and website before booking an appointment just to make sure that our practice is a good fit for you.
What conditions do you treat? Do you address comorbidities?
Our practice is dedicated exclusively to the treatent and management of ADHD for adults. We believe that by focusing on ADHD, we can provide the highest quality care and support for our patients in managing this condition. While our certified medical professionals with ADHD-CCSP training are passionate about mental health and supervised by a board-certified psychiatrist, we do not treat anxiety, depression, or any other mental health conditions directly.
We understand that ADHD often has comorbidities, and we acknowledge the importance of addressing these conditions to provide comprehensive care for our patients. While our primary focus is on ADHD treatment, we believe in a collaborative approach when it comes to managing comorbidities, such as anxiety and depression. In cases where a patient's anxiety is managed by an outside provider using medications such as Benzodiazepine (Benzos), we advise the patient to seek ADHD treatment with that provider. Our team is committed to working within our area of expertise while recognizing the valuable role that other mental health professionals play in managing comorbid conditions.
What is Medication Abuse and Diversion?
We’ve seen ADHD awareness increase steadily over the past ten years, but nothing has compared to the level of attention ADHD has gained since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This increase in ADHD awareness and treatment options for adults with ADHD is good for those who actually need treatment, but this also means there’s increased potential for abuse and diversion.
When properly prescribed and administered, medications approved for the treatment of ADHD have been shown to be highly safe and effective. However, the medications used to treat ADHD, like any medication, can be abused.
What is drug abuse:
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) defines prescription drug abuse in the following way:
Taking a prescription medication that is not prescribed for you Taking a prescription medication for reasons or in dosages other than prescribed
Adults who take prescription medications are responsible for taking them as prescribed. Most ADHD medications are stimulants and categorized by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as Schedule II Medications. This means that any improper use of them―including providing them to someone without a prescription or taking them without a prescription―is a federal crime.
What is medication diversion:
Another way in which prescribed medications can be abused is known as diversion. Diversion can range from giving a friend a single one of your stimulant pills, to selling one’s prescribed pills to others. Drug diversion has serious personal, legal, and financial consequences, and Millennium Medical Associates will terminate any patient from the practice who is caught engaging in such illegal activity, as it will violate the Controlled Substance Agreement signed upon becoming a patient at our practice.
It is illegal to share your ADHD medication with household members, family, or friends, even if they have the same or similar symptoms or prescription as you. ADHD prescription medications are controlled substances to be used by and only by the patient receiving treatment, identified on the prescription bottle. Any patient found to be violating the law will be terminated as a patient.
What you need to know and do:
- Know that your ADHD meds are a controlled substance. Possession of these medications without a prescription is illegal.
- Safeguard your medication from theft. It is an important tool to manage your ADHD symptoms and it should be there when you need it.
- “A gift is a sale.” In the eyes of the law, giving a controlled substance to someone who does not have the legal or medical authority to possess it is the same as selling it.
- Don’t share your medication with others. Giving controlled substances to your friends is not only illegal, but can cause them harm if they are not being supervised by a medical professional.
- Follow your medication plan. Changing your plan without consulting your doctor can have medical consequences and can create a surplus of pills that can lead to trouble. If you don’t feel that you need to take your meds on the schedule prescribed, please discuss this with your provider during your next follow-up.
IMPORTANT: Millennium Medical Associates is committed to protecting our patients and the public from substance abuse, as well as protecting those who gain access to your medication. If you ever have any issue with any type of addiction, please reply to this email or reach out to your provider directly so we can refer you to the appropriate care to help you.

Do I have to be a California resident to be treated?
In 2011 we established our Beverly Hills office, seeing patients in person. Since the COVID pandemic started, we have seen patients via telehealth visits where appropriate. We plan to return to offering both in-office and telehealth visits in the near future as soon as it is safe for all of us.
Our practice can only initiate or continue with treatment for patients living/residing full-time in California. As long as you are inside the state of California, we can treat you and prescriptions must be sent to a pharmacy within California. Note: Your IP address will be confirmed during your first video appointment.
Both stimulant and non-stimulant medications can be prescribed based on the treatment regimen determined by your practitioner in your first appointment.
What is your mission?
The mission of Millennium Medical Associates is to improve the lives of adults suffering from ADHD through a combination of education, treatment, and a dedication to the highest quality patient care and service.
As a society, we are undereducated about this medical condition and the effects it can have on the life of an individual not knowing they have options. In 2013, medical articles reported that fewer than 20% of adults with ADHD are currently diagnosed and/or treated (Psychiatrist.com). This means that 80% of adults with ADHD are undiagnosed and untreated. Those numbers astounded us. After all, a test for ADHD is not part of an annual physical exam and is not likely to come up during a routine visit. We felt it would be meaningful to help those we’ve educated to increase awareness and treatment of this condition.
The founders of Millennium Medical Associates have both been diagnosed and are receiving treatment for Adult ADHD. They know personally the profoundly positive impact education and treatment can make.
Having been unfairly judged by others because of their medical condition, the founders decided Millennium Medical Associates will always be a space where Adult ADHD sufferers will never be judged, made to feel lazy, or made to feel crazy.
And, today, over 10 years later, patients regularly tell us that for the first time they feel someone has finally heard them, understands their plight, and is dedicated to helping them improve their lives.
It is, after all, our motto:
“Caring and compassionate treatment for adults living with ADHD”
What is Adult ADHD?
ADHD Affects Adults
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD (previously called ADD) affects millions of American adults. Experts believe that up to 5.6% of adults between ages 18-44 have ADHD. As many as 3.5% of people over aged 50 have the disorder. Most of these people suffer in silence because only one in five adults with ADHD receives any diagnosis or treatment!
The consequences of untreated adult ADHD include:
- Higher rates of drug and alcohol abuse
- Less likely to graduate from college
- Lower paying jobs
- More likely to need welfare
These issues impact more than just those who have ADHD. Untreated ADHD creates problems for families, businesses, and society at large! By raising awareness, we can reduce the stigma and help silent sufferers. Any adult experiencing ADHD symptoms should waste no time finding a doctor, getting evaluated for ADHD, and learning about ADHD treatment options.
**Adult ADHD Symptoms **
Adults are not simply taller children. The human brain changes dramatically with age. For this reason, the most common symptoms for adults with ADHD tend to be different from what children experience. Adults tend to feel less bothered by hyperactivity-related problems like fidgeting or the need to stand or walk frequently. Compared to kids, adults have more trouble:
Avoiding distractions Making hasty decisions Stopping activities when someone asks Starting projects before getting directions Doing tasks in order and on time Driving too fast Keeping emotions in check Staying organized or being prepared. Most of us can identify with a few of the items on this list, but someone with ADHD might be able to identify with several of them. If these problems feel a little too familiar, a doctor can help.
Diagnosing ADHD in Adults
Strange as it may seem, most doctors diagnose ADHD using nothing but a series of questions. During this interview, doctors rely on information from the DSM-V. This book houses research-based standards to help diagnose mental health problems. Doctors diagnose ADHD if a person meets the conditions outlined in the book. In clear-cut cases, people need no further testing.
ADHD Testing for Adults
However, sometimes doctors feel uncertain about whether someone meets the official standards for ADHD. In these cases, doctors have the option to use further testing. These tests include:
The Revised Conners' Adult Rating Scale The Barkley Adult ADHD Rating Scale The Wender-Reimherr Adult ADD Scale The World Health Organization's Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale. Sometimes, doctors may request MRI films or EEG brain-wave studies. Rarely, doctors order blood tests to rule out other issues, but there is no blood test for ADHD.
Medical Treatment for Adult ADHD
Most of the time, ADHD treatment involves medication and behavior changes. Medication for ADHD usually includes prescription stimulant pills such as Adderall, Ritalin, or Vyvanse. In some cases, doctors may recommend non-stimulant drugs such as Strattera. No two people are exactly alike. And so, providers will work with their patients to find a treatment that fits. Outside of drugs, doctors help patients develop new habits or routines to address weaknesses caused by ADHD.
Adult ADHD Summary
ADHD impacts millions of adults in the United States, and up to 80% of adults with ADHD go undiagnosed and untreated. Using what we just learned, we can help ourselves or our loved ones find help. Millennium Medical Associates can provide tools and resources to help adults thrive regardless of ADHD. Who can diagnose ADHD?
Only a licensed medical provider (such as a medical doctor, psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant) can prescribe medication for adults with ADHD.
Millennium Medical Associates is a medical office. Our providers are all certified and licensed ADHD-CCSP experts.
We treat ADHD with oral medications, including both stimulant and non-stimulant medications. We also treat with non-medication options, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Neurofeedback.
During your initial appointment, your provider will discuss all options in more detail.
If counseling is preferred (such as behavior modification) instead of treatment with medication, we suggest that you choose a psychologist or master-level therapist. We can offer referrals for these services, for patients who may benefit from a combined treatment approach utilizing both medications and counseling.
Are you a scam?
No. We wish we didn’t hear this question, but from time to time we do, often along with sounding too good to be true (referring to the quantity and depth of positive reviews of our practice).
We understand that assuring you we are real and legitimate isn’t enough, and that reviews on countless business listing sites can be forgeries. You are welcome to privately message public reviewers and ask for their personal review of our practice. Several years ago we embraced Internet culture and understand the helpful impact positive and critical reviews play in enabling others to feel confident in a choice to move forward. We also love feedback that helps us know what works and what to do better. We want everyone to have a positive experience, but we can fail to meet an individual’s expectations or in very rare cases we must disappoint very determined individuals who we can not or can no longer treat. In these cases we may earn an unfavorable review; you can find our public feedback responses and how we handle feedback to improve our screening, onboarding, policies, visit experience, and training/staff knowledge. In fact, 360 feedback is a major contributor to our responsiveness, adaptation to requests, accessibility, and growth since 2011.
Since we opened our doors in 2011, we’ve dedicated ourselves to stand out from the rest of the healthcare offices in Los Angeles by treating our patients as our best friends through attentive patient service and honest, collaborative bedside manner. Sometimes we still make mistakes, but we always rectify the situation and learn. Turns out helping adults with a specific troubling issue leads to reviews which have been largely favorable.
We understand a specialized healthcare office with glowing reviews can lead to skepticism, so we encourage you to also call our office at 310-360-5917 to ask how we do things, and better understand why we care.

How we’re different
Not telehealth-only
Between 2011-2019 we only treated new patients in person at our Beverly Hills office. However, in 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the new telemedicine laws that went into effect, we began treating new patients via Telemedicine and video appointments.
As of today, treating new patients via telemedicine and video appointments is still permitted.
Currently, as long as you are inside the state of California during your first video appointment, we can treat you. Note: Your IP address will be confirmed during your first video appointment, and your first prescription must be sent to a pharmacy inside California.
Affordable pricing
Access to better care is what we were founded on, so we don’t charge thousands like other doctors in LA, and we don’t require commitment or contracts. Our iniital visit price of $389 is purposely the lowest possible for the unmatched quality of personalized care you will receive, and follow-ups are even less. We also offer interest-free split payments through Afterpay.
Have PPO or FSA/HSA insurance?
We will supply you with a coded receipt that you can upload to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Already a patient and have questions about your treatment?
Check-ins with your provider are always free.
Empathy included
We take the time to review your medical history to provide a custom treatment regimen. Our founders have ADHD and understand controlling it can be an asset; their compassion to help others is at the heart of our practice.

All of our certified medical professionals with ADHD-CCSP training are passionate about mental health and are supervised and trained by our board-certified psychiatrist. They also work full time with ADHD patients, split between new patient appointments, and complimentary office hours.

Your first appointment
Are first-time appointments done over video?
Yes we are now conducting all appointments via ‘TeleHealth’ (video chat) for your safety and convenience during the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) response.
To book your first appointment, your next step is simple, follow this link to fill out your ADHD pre-assessment:[https://start.millenniummedicalassociates.com/assessment][0]
Can you treat people outside of Los Angeles?
Thanks to Telemedicine and video appointments, as long as you are inside the state of California during your first video appointment, we can treat you. Our practice cannot continue with treatment for patients while they reside outside of California.
Both stimulant and non-stimulant medications can be prescribed based on the treatment regimen determined by your practitioner in your first appointment.
To book your first appointment, follow this link to fill out your ADHD pre-assessment: https://start.millenniummedicalassociates.com/assessment
What is the entire process to become a new patient?
We pre-qualify new patients so that we don’t waste your time, or money.
The process starts with our practitioners reviewing your initial ADHD pre-assessment completed on our website, which can be found here.
After the practitioners review your assessment, within 24 hours they will let you know if your results indicate that you show signs or symptoms of ADHD.
At this point, should you be interested in seeking treatment, a medical history form will be digitally and securely sent to you, which will then be reviewed by our practitioners to ensure that treatment with ADHD medication is safe for you.
After reviewing your medical history the screening process will be complete. Our practitioners will then determine if you qualify to schedule an appointment with our office.
If you do qualify, we will send you a link to book a new patient video appointment. This 45-60 minute video appointment with one of our ADHD specialists is the final step in completing your official ADHD diagnosis. If you're interested in learning more about what you and your practitioner will cover in your first appointment, please click here: https://www.millenniummedicalassociates.com/new-patient-process
With regard to payment, you will not be charged until the end of your video appointment, and should the practitioner determine in your appointment that we are not able to treat you, there will be no fee charged to you.
If I've previously been diagnosed with ADHD, why do I need to complete your medical practice ADHD diagnosis questionnaires?
It is not unusual for a previously-diagnosed-and-treated individual to reach out for treatment at our ADHD practice. We do require all prospective patients to complete two proprietary ADHD questionnaires, for several reasons. The most important reason is that there is currently no standardized test to diagnose ADHD. Consequently, different physicians may interpret test results or patient symptoms in different ways. At Millennium Medical Associates, our primary objective is to safely and effectively treat adults with ADHD. Accordingly, we have developed a comprehensive screening process. We think our process, beginning with the ADHD questionnaires, is the best way to effectively diagnose and treat individuals with ADHD. Therefore, all prospective patients are required to complete our ADHD questionnaires.
What is your cancellation/reschedule policy?
Please note that your appointment time is reserved especially for you. We kindly ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you’ll be unable to make your appointment or need to reschedule using the link in your appointment confirmation email. If you miss your appointment and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you may be subject to cancellation fees.
Insurance
Do you accept insurance?
Our practice does not accept insurance, but your insurance can be applied to your medication costs at the pharmacy, if you have pharmacy benefits.
If you have PPO insurance, all of your treatment fees can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. We will supply you with a coded receipt — or "Superbill" — that you can upload or mail to your insurance.
Your insurance provider will then reimburse you directly the amount allowed within your insurance plan (insurance plan specifics vary). You can submit all costs including your first visit and all refill service fees. See the “How much will my insurance reimburse me?” section below to learn how much you can get reimbursed.
Both FSA and HSA will cover treatment from our office.
Will insurance cover my medication?
If your insurance plan includes prescription drug coverage, you may use the insurance at the pharmacy. If your plan does not include prescription drug coverage, we will provide you access to a coupon to use at the pharmacy.
Would insurance save me money?
- Many of our patients have told us that the level of care and results they receive outweighs any potential difference in cost, especially when compared to treatment at other ADHD clinics.
- Some patients with insurance have a high deductable so their co-payment doesn't differ from our prices.
- Access to more affordable ADHD treatment is what we were founded on, so our pricing is purposely the lowest possible for the unmatched quality of personalized care you will receive.
Why don’t you accept insurance directly?
When a healthcare practice accepts insurance, the practice is required to operate within restrictions set by insurance companies. These restrictions — like limiting how long an appointment can be — significantly compromise the level of care that we know our patients need in order to provide you with the best ADHD treatment available.
Not accepting insurance directly allows us to:
- Spend more time with our patients
- Offer a more personalized level of care without insurance companies controlling the course of your treatment
- Protect your privacy as we are under no obligation to share your medical information with any third-party
- Provide our patients with unlimited check-ins at no cost
How does insurance reimbursement work?
We will supply you with a coded receipt — or "Superbill" — that you can upload or mail to your insurance.
Your insurance provider will then reimburse you directly the amount allowed within your insurance plan (insurance plan specifics vary). You can submit all costs including your first visit and all refill service fees. See the “How much will my insurance reimburse me?” section below to learn how much you can get reimbursed.
How much will my insurance reimburse me?

- Diagnosis Code: F90.0 — Adult Attention Deficit Disorder

By providing the above information, your insurance company can tell you the exact amount they will reimburse directly to you.

More about ADHD
Is it called ADD or ADHD?
Please click here to learn about the difference.
How do I know if I have ADD/ADHD?
There are many different symptoms of ADD/ADHD, which can be unique to each patient. Some common symptoms include not completing important tasks, beginning meaningless tasks instead of finishing important ones, or appearing irritable in social settings. There is an ADD/ADHD assessment that can help determine whether you suffer from this condition. You can take the pre-assessment here by completing the ADD/ADHD assessment. Once completed, our staff will review your pre-assessment results and contact you within 24 hours.

We also treat with non-medication options, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Neurofeedback.
Everyone is unique, and we tailor our approach to your health and wellness. Research shows that the majority of patients with ADD/ADHD will see an improvement in their symptoms when prescribed an appropriate medication.
